Since Biscayne Times was bought in October 2020, we’ve endeavored to improve the overall quality of the news magazine with in-depth hyper-local news stories, a variety of commentary, a new Dish & Drink section and greatly expanded arts and cultural coverage.
A recent readership survey has revealed that most of you are pleased with the results. The majority of respondents are regular readers who engage with both print and online formats. Local neighborhood news, arts and culture coverage, and restaurant reviews emerged as the most popular content types.
Nearly a third of you reported visiting a local business, dining at a local restaurant or attending an event because you read about it in Biscayne Times. Many readers also reported voting in local elections based on information from our publication.
While our average satisfaction score was 4.2 out of 5, survey participants expressed a desire for more neighborhood news, more events coverage and more stories about the environment and climate change.
Rest assured that we’ve taken your wishes to heart and are pleased to report some personnel changes who will address them. New Biscayne Times Editor Mary Damiano has a well of experience in Miami-Dade County’s arts and cultural community and new Corridor News writer Paloma Pimentel has a particular expertise in environmental news. Their insight is expected to enhance the publication in some of the areas of most importance to our readers.
We will also keep digging for more neighborhood news; seek more businesses to profile and diversify content to further meet reader satisfaction in print and on the web.
We encourage you to submit more letters to the editor or just drop us a line from time to time to tell us what you think. Needless to say, news tips are always welcomed because some of the best stories come from you, our dedicated readers.
