Segura Viudas Brut Rosé Cava NV
$10.99 at TotalWine.com
Cava, Spain’s famous sparkling wine, is great in so many ways. Not only is it an appealing sparkling wine made in the traditional method (like Champagne), but you can find bottles at all different budget levels.
Heredad Segura Viudas is located outside of Barcelona in the wine region of Penedès. It is one of the top-producing cava houses with origins t
hat date back to the 11th century.
This brut rosé is a blend of trepat, pinot noir and garnacha, and it’s a short maceration on the skins of these grapes that creates its signature pink color. The wine is aged for a minimum of 12 months, with less lees aging for this wine than other cavas, as the goal is to maintain the primary fruit aromas of the grapes. The resulting wine is bright and cheery, with ripe red fruit flavors and nice acidity.
Segura Viudas brut rosé is perfect for a ladies’ day brunch with quiche Lorraine, smoked salmon on toast, and fruit and cheese, or by itself paired with any quality catch-up session with good friends.
A Night With Someone Special Includes …
J Vineyards Sparkling Brut Rosé NV
$42.99 at TotalWine.com
We all love personalization! While this vessel may not be personalized, per se, it’s a beautiful bottle to share with someone who happens to have a “J” name, as the big J on the front makes a statement. (But of course, this wine can be enjoyed by people with names from all over the alphabet!)
J Vineyards & Winery is in Sonoma, Calif., and is famous for elegant sparkling wines made in the traditional method. The vineyard is so proud of its bubbly that it even has a “Bubble Room” on the property where you can reserve an exclusive tasting and paired meal when you visit. It’s a real treat for sparkling wine lovers.
The brut rosé is a serious wine that can be served with a meal or alongside caviar for an impressive showing of decadence. It is lively and layered, with flavors of red fruits like raspberries and strawberries, along with mandarin oranges and crème fraiche. This is a delicate and harmonious bottle of bubbly that pairs well with a celebration of love or affection.
Celebrate Amore With Italian Classic …
Ferghettina Brut Rosé, Franciacorta DOCG, 2019
$74.75 at MrDWine.com (vintage varies)
Franciacorta is a unique Italian wine region, so it only makes sense to share a bottle with someone just as exceptional while celebrating amore. The Franciacorta region is in Lombardy, Italy, and it is here that sophisticated sparkling wines are made in the traditional method, using primarily chardonnay, pinot nero and pinot bianco. The wines spend no less than 18 months on the lees, 30 months for single vintage wines and a total of 60 months for riservas. Franciacorta is world-renowned for excellence and can compete on the same level with top Champagne from France.
Ferghettina’s rosé is 100% pinot nero and spends 36 months aging on lees to create a refined sparkling wine. It has aromas and flavors of ripe red berries, a touch of orange and brioche, with a savory, herbal, quality to the palate, bright acidity and a long finish. Plus, the wine comes in a beautiful square-shaped bottle for a more festive presentation.
Cheers to every kind of love and great sparkling wines!
