South Florida is known for its delectable, fresh-caught seafood. The 8th annual South Beach Seafood Festival celebrates the commencement of Miami’s stone crab season.
Seafood Week kicks off Wednesday, Oct. 20 with a sneak peek at what this year’s stone crab season has to offer. At an exclusive event at Joe’s Stone Crab, guests will get the chance to dine in Jessie’s room, the same room where Al Capone and Frank Sinatra once enjoyed Miami’s finest stone crabs.
If dining at a world-renowned restaurant isn’t enough, on Thursday, Oct. 21, “Goya’s Crabs, Slabs, And Cabs” provides a cocktail-style event where 10 of South Florida’s first-class chefs will treat guests to a unique surf ‘n’ turf tasting menu.
The festivities on Friday, Oct. 22, consist of an exhilarating chef competition where 14 of Miami’s most acclaimed culinary geniuses battle head-to-head. At “VIP Chef Showdown,” a panel of judges and media will critique the seafood-centric dishes, but the attendees are the deciding factor of who will be crowned champion of the night.
The week’s final festivities will take place Saturday, Oct. 23, at Lummus Park on South Beach. The 8th annual South Beach Seafood Festival runs from 12-7 p.m. The event features pop-up cafes like Tanuki Miami, Pubbelly Sushi and CJs Crab Shack, and live music stages. Tickets for the festival are in two tiers, General Admission and VIP; the latter allows guest to enjoy all the pop-up cafes and a select group of exclusive VIP sampling stations.
